Paul Clemm drives the #117 GTS-2 Class
car. He lives in Sterling VA. His home track is Summit Point Speedway but
he can also be found racing at Virginia International Raceway Mid-Ohio and
Beaver Run.
He began racing in 2004 in GTS-2 Class at
VIR after following the road racing for several years, loved to drive and
wanted always to drive fast and be safe. His first win was in 2004 at
Beaver Run in GTS-2 Class. Career highlights include, 2nd Place finish,
qualified on pole and won race 2 at Beaver Run with 10 cars in his class.
Leading Virginia Region points, 5th in National Points.
The thrills of racing for him are
everything, the competition, wrenching on the cars, the people and the
food. His most exciting racing moment was passing 3 GTS-2 cars into turn 7
at Beaver Run to take the race lead and eventually won the race 2 laps
later. He is most proud that he built his own car( with help and guidance
from many people), and being able to race competitively.
His racing hero is Michael Shumaker.
Of racing, Paul says, "If you like driving
cars, it's a way to go fast and really learn the craft of driving at high
speeds. It is so much safer than driving like a maniac on public roads".
Paul's favorite racing website is
