Kenny Adams drives the #17k Midget Class
car. His home track is Farmer City Raceway, but he can also be
found racing at Fairbury Speedway and Angell Park Speedway. He
lives in El Paso, IL.
Team members helping Kenny are:
Mike Adams (Uncle) and Steve Blair. Mike Adams is the car owner.
Kenny started racing in 1990 in the
Quarter Midget Class at Abe Lincoln Quarter Midget Assoc. because
after watching two cousins race Quarter Midgets, Kenny decided that was
something he wanted to do. His first win was in 1991 in the
Quarter Midget Class at ALQMA in Broadwell, IL. Career highlights
include winning the 2005 MARA Rookie of the Year, finishing 4th in
the Points, 1997 Region 5 Lt. B Champion, started racing 250cc
Mini-Sprints in '98, 600cc Mini Sprints in '99 and then Midget in 2005.
His most exciting racing moment was the
Dana Godfey Memorial at Macon Speedway where he was riding wheelies half
way down the backstretch, which is very hard to do in a Midget.
He's most proud of winning his first Heat race in a Midget in his Rookie
attempt at the Chili Bowl.
Kenny's racing hero is Darrell Waltrip.
Of racing, Kenny says, "Race car drivers
actually are athletes, even though many non-racing fans seem to think
that we're not! Race every race like it's your last. So if
you never get to race again, at least you can say you didn't leave
anything on the table and that's something to be proud of !".
