Born into a drag
racing family, Lindsey Trausch has been involved in motorsports all of her
life. By either actively working or driving for her family's Seward Racing
team, located in Middletown, Ind., Trausch knew early that racing would be
her life's passion. At age ten, Trausch began working as a crewmember on
her family's Super Comp dragster driven by older brother Brian Seward
traveling across the Midwest contesting both NHRA and IHRA drag racing
events.
By age 17,
Trausch made her way behind the wheel of Seward Racing's Competition
Eliminator dragster in which she competed before heading to Purdue
University in 1996. While at Purdue, Trausch continued to serve as
crewmember for Seward Racing and also began to hone her oval track driving
skills. In 1998, Trausch climbed behind the wheel of older sister Sheli
Marshall's ThunderCar stock car, competing in two events at Anderson
(Ind.) Speedway. Though this was Trausch's first time turning left, she
proved to be a quick study capturing the heat race in her first outing.
She then finished second in both features she entered that year. After a
two-year hiatus, Trausch once again drove her sister's ThunderCar where
she scored yet another heat win and second place feature finish behind
Marshall.
Lindsey
started Driving in 1994, in a Competition/Modified Eliminator, NHRA/IHRA
drag racing Circuits. Trausch started racing because she had been involved in
racing through her family her entire life and driving was the next transition.
She got her
first win in 1998 in a ThunderCar Stock Car; at Anderson (Ind)
Speedway.
Thrill of
racing for
Trausch is the,
love the competition and speed involved in racing, and the mental
discipline it takes to get the job done.
Her most
exciting moment in racing is every time she straps Herself into
a race car, because she is living her dream of
being
a race car driver.
"A lot of people go their entire lives unable to live their true passion
and I have been blessed with that opportunity."
Lindsey's
Racing Heros: Shirley Muldowney and Tony Stewart. Both are true racers
who race for the love of the sport.
