Jeff Smith
#00
Jeff Smith drives the #00 Crate Late Model
Class car. His home track is North Georgia Speedway but he can
also be found racing at Dixie Speedway and Rome Speedway. He lives
in Rocky Face, GA.
Team members helping Jeff are:
Mom, Dad, Shane, Chris, Samantha, Carli, Nickolas, Griffin, Scott, Greg
and Richard. Dan Smith is the car owner.
Jeff started racing in 1994 in the Hobby
Stock Class at North Georgia Speedway because he was involved in motor
sports with his Dad as a kid and his Dad offered him a chance to drive
and they've gone from there. His first win was in 1995 in the
Sportsman Class at Sugar Creek Raceway. Career highlights include
about 20 Feature wins including Sportsman, Limited Crate and Super Late
Models. He finished 8th in the Crate Racin Points and missed 2
shows.
The thrill of racing for Jeff is just to
thrive to be better than your competitor and the thrill of victory.
His most exciting racing moment was his first Super Late Model win.
He had raced almost 2 1/2 years without a win and had never won a race
at his home track, so they broke two streaks at one time. He's
most proud of the fact that it keeps his family together and hopefully
it will do the same for his kids as it has for him. This sport has
kept him out of trouble most of his life.
Jeff's racing hero is Dale Earnhardt.
Of racing, Jeff says, "It's a lot of
work, time and effort to be successful, but it is also a lot of fun!".
