Derrick Rainey drives the #87 Crate Late Model Class car.  His home track is Dixie Speedway.  He lives in Powder Springs, GA.

Team members helping Derrick are:  Dad, Charles, Mike and Josh.  Dave Barto is the car owner.

Derrick started racing in 1981 in the B-Cadet Class at 7 Flags in Douglasville GA, Dixie Speedway in Woodstock GA and Rome Speedway in Rome GA because it's in his blood from 8 years old starting in Quarter Midgets to 110 years old.  His first win was in '81 in the B-Cadet at 7 Flags.  Career highlights include '91 Late Model Rookie of the Year at Dixie Speedway.

The thrill of racing for Derrick is the speed and competition.  His most exciting racing moment is winning.  He's most proud of traveling NeSmith Crate Series for 3 years and in Top 5 in Points each year.

Derrick's racing hero is Ronnie Johnson.
