Chris Rogers
#7
Chris Rogers drives the #7 Sprint Class
car. He lives in Douglasville, GA. Chris's #7 car is the
silver and black wing with green flames, Hurricane Chassis, 360 c.i.
Chevy.
He started racing in 1987 in the 1/4
Midgets at Powder Springs, GA. because his parents started him in 1/4
Midgets at the age of 7 and he's been hooked ever since.
Career highlights include: 1987-1993
set over 30 track records and over 200 Feature wins in 1/4 Midget
career. 1996 Dixie Outlaw Mini Sprint Association Champion.
1999 United Sprint Car Series Dirt Rookie Champion.
The thrill of racing for Chris is the love
of the close racing on the edge of control that occurs in Sprint car
racing. It's hard to find that element of danger with full bodied
cars. His most exhilarating racing moment was blowing by Kenny Adams
on the outside of turn 3 & 4 at Mobile International Raceway to take
win (which was given to Adams in a very controversial decision) in 2003
season start. Chris is most proud of his first showing in a Sprint
car. He competed with the American Sprint Car Series at Gulf Port,
Miss. in 1997. He finished in 4th place and had never sat in a
Sprint car before the hot lap session that evening.
Of racing, Chris says, "Racing is a
way of life. It becomes more than just a hobby, at some point, and
from that point on, you spend most of your time and all of your
money to go faster. If you develop a passion, like I have, you'll
continue racing no matter what!".
