Ed Flemke Jr. drives the #79 NASCAR Modified Tour Class car.  He lives in Southington, CT.  His home tracks are the Modified Tour tracks.

He started racing in April of 1973 in the Modified Class at Riverside Park in Aqawam, Ma. following in his father's and grandfather's footsteps.  His first win was in 1985 in the Modified class at Waterford Speed Bowl (Winston 100) in New London, CT.  Career highlights include Rookie of the Year in 1973.  Look at his website for a complete listing.

The thrill of racing for Ed is carrying on the family name and seeing the smiles on the faces of the people involved with him and his team.  His most exciting racing moment was their race win at Nazereth Pa. where they had struggled so hard at that place, it was gratifying to finally conquer it.  He's most proud of carrying on the family name and the satisfaction of running a successful race car fab shop and watching their cars do well as they dual being part of a great great race team and family.

Ed's racing heroes are Ed Flemke Sr, Pete Hamilton, and Dennis Zimmerman. 

Of racing, Ed says, "There's a lot more to racing than the Cup!!!  The Mod's are the best kept secret in the racing world!".
