Jim Fluharty

Jim Fluharty drives the #15 Thunder Roadster Class car.  He lives in Concord, NC.  His home track is Lowe's Motor Speedway but he can also be found racing at Concord Motorsports Park and the Dirt Track at Lowe's.

He started racing in 1995 in the Street Stock Class at Concord Motorsports Park, which had been his dream since he was 5 years old.  Jim was awarded the Hard Charger Award in 1998, finished 5th in the King of the Oval in 2003 and Raced at Bristol Motor Speedway in August of 2003.

The thrill of racing for Jim is driving fast, having fun, making friends and the competition.  His most exciting racing moment was racing at Bristol Motor Speedway where he ran wide open at 134 mph all the way around the track.  He's most proud of working on, paying for and driving his own car. 

Jim's racing hero is Richard Petty.

Of racing, Jim says, "Take your time, have fun.  There is a lot more to racing than just going fast and turning left!".
