Gary Brooks

Gary Brooks drives the #21 UMP/IMCA
Modified Class car. He lives in Charlotte, NC. His home track
is East Lincolnton Motor Speedway but he can also be found racing at
Volusia Speedway Park.
He started racing in 1957 in Go-Karts at
the Bubble Gum Speedway because his father was involved with it. His
first win was in that same year. Career highlights include 9 Track
Championships - 1971, '72, '75, '82, '83, '84, '85, '86, Devils Bowl
twice, Buffalo Park Speedway 3 times, over 350 Feature wins in Open Wheel
Modified and Late Model. In addition, Gary has run at USAC Stock
Cars, Craftsman Truck Series and Winston Cup.
The thrill of racing for Gary is the speed
and concentration. His most exciting racing moment was winning the
Championship in 1984 by winning 15 races in a row. He's most proud
of making it to 3 races in Winston Cup.
Gary's racing hero is Richard Petty.
