Shawn Peterson drives the #61M Modified Class car. He lives in Cottage Grove, MN. His home track is Viking Speedway, Alexandria, MN, but he can also be found racing at Willmar and Deer Creek.

He began racing in  2003 in B-Modified Class in Alexandria, MN. after waiting for the right opportunity to come along. His first win was in 2003 in B-Modified Class at Alexandria. Career highlights include 8 Feature wins in 2004, coming in 2nd in Points his first year of racing, Rookie of the Year and Sportsman of the year.

The thrills of racing for Shawn are meeting new people and the competition. His most exciting racing moment was the first race he competed in. He is most  proud of  all of the guys that have helped him and his family.

Shawn's racing hero is Dale Earnhardt.

Of racing, Shawn says, "There is a lot of time and money put into this sport, so even the best of drivers and the ones that struggle are  great. Support them all, they're out there for the fans too".
