Chris Smith drives the #88 Open Wheel Modified Class car. He lives in Brewton, AL. His home track is Southern Raceway, Milton, Fla. He can also be found racing at Columbus Speedway, Magnolia Motor Speedway and Deep South Speedway.

He began racing in 1998 in Modified Class at Southern Raceway for the competition. His first win was in 1999 at Southern Raceway in Modified Class. Career highlight includes winning the Gulf Coast Hot Chassis Regional Championship.

The thrill of racing for him is the Victory. His most exciting racing moment was winning the Season Championship at Southern Raceway in Milton, Fla. in 2003. He is most proud of being able to go to the Super Nationals in Boone, Iowa.

Chris' racing hero is Rick Eckert.

Of racing, Chris says, "Racing has changed my life. It gives me focus, a source of pride and a goal to work towards. It gives me more opportunity to spend time with my family and friends".
