Scott Shirey
#10
Scott Shirey drives the #10 Crate Late
Model Class car in the Fast Track Series. His home track is I-20
Speedway but he can also be found racing at Sumter Speedway. He
lives in Gaston, SC. People who have helped Scott are: Mark Shirey,
Tonya Shirey, Rob & Troy Shirey, Allie Dowd, Earl & Martha Shirey (car
owners).
Scott started racing in 1993 in the Hobby
Class at New Columbia Speedway because his Dad used to race and Scott
always had a passion for it. Career highlights include; 1996 - I-20
Hobby Points Champion, 1999 - Mid year went to Late Models and won 3 races
in a row with 8 wins out of 12 total, 2003 - I-20 Super Late Model
Champion and won most races.
The thrill of racing for Scott are the
high speed corners, the force from the turns and trying to be the first
one to the checkered flag. His most exciting racing moment was
winning his first Super Late Model race. He's most proud of starting
out as a family thing that they could all do together and it still
is...and working up to Late Models.
Scott's racing heroes are his Dad and Dale
Earnhardt.
Of racing, Scott says, "Great family
sport, it's harder than it looks and it's very expensive!".
