 Gathan Burns

Gathan Burns drives the #19 Crate Late Model Class car.  His home track is Green Valley Speedway but he can also be found racing at Talladega Short Track.  He lives in Piedmont, AL.

Team members helping Gathan are:  Kevin Woods, Sam Ray, Sonny Ray, Jonathan Roy, Brady Burns, Kenneth Pace, Ken Hudson, Christopher Ray. 

Gathan started racing in 1986 in the Enduro Class at Talladega Short Track to have fun.  His first win was in '87 in the Enduro class at Talladega Short Track.  Career highlights include getting back in racing after 17 years off, winning his first Crate race at Thunder Mountain Speedway, finishing 5th in the first leg of '07 FasTrak National Championship.

The thrill of racing for Gathan is the speed and the ability to do well and be competitive.  His most exciting racing moment was racing Bubba Teague for a win at Thunder Mountain Speedway and spinning out 30 feet from the flag stand.  He's most proud of being able to race for a long time and still be competitive.

Of racing, Gathan says, "It is fun and that if anybody wants to do it, they should!".
