Scott Childress drives the #78 Crate Late
Model Class car in the Fastrak Series. His home track is Cherokee
Speedway but he can also be found racing at Riverside Speedway. He
lives in Conestee, SC. People who have helped Scott are: Ulrich

Rick Turner (car hauler driver), Kimberly Mauser (Marketing). Car
owner is Ed Childress.
Scott started racing in 1998 in the
Modified 4 at Cherokee Speedway because his father, Ed Childress, raced.
Scott grew up in a racing family. His first win was in 1999 in the
Modified 4 at Cherokee Speedway. Career highlights include
2002 NC, SC, GA, TN State Champion, 12 race winning streak in Modified 4,
35 wins out of 45 starts.
The thrill of racing for Scott is the
competitiveness. His most exciting racing moment was passing Scott
Tessner (3) on the last lap to snatch the win. He's most proud of
becoming a champion just like his father.
Scott's racing hero is Jeff Gordon.
Of racing, Scott says, "It's the most
competitive, adrenaline rushing and humbling sport there is. It
takes a great crew and a great driver, a great car and always a prayer
before the green flag flies!".
