Joey McCoy drives the #97 Crate Late Model Class car.  His home track is Toccoa Speedway.  He lives in Franklin, NC.

Team members helping Joey are:  Cricket.  Gary & Rodger Phillips are the car owners.

Joey started racing in 1993 in the 4 Cyl Class at Smoky Mountain Raceway because it is a family tradition.  His first win was that same year.  Career highlights include 4 Cyl '95 Smoky Mountain Raceway Track Champion, Limited Sportsman '00 11 wins, '02 Super Late Model Rookie of the Year at Smoky Mountain Raceway, 3 wins in Crate Late Model in '07 at Toccoa Speedway.

The thrill of racing for Joey is the excitement, speed and relaxing.  His most exciting racing moment was when he get hit in L R tire, leading coming to the white flag.  Tire went flat but held onto win in Limited Sportsman.  He's most proud of having his family support.

Joey's racing hero is Randy McCoy - Dad.
