He began racing in 1988 in Pure Stock Class at Volusia Speedway after seeing his first race at age 4. His first win was in 1998 in Hobby Stock Class at Volusia. Career highlights include 2 Hobby Stock Feature Wins and 21 Pure Stock Wins.

The thrill of racing for Douglas is the competition. His most exciting racing moment was his first win. He is most proud of the good clean racing anytime.
