G. R. Smith drives the #22 Super Late Model Class car.  He races in Carolina Clash, and WOO, but he can also be found racing with Lucas Oil and Southern All States.  He lives in Mooresville, NC.

G. R. started racing in 1999 in the Dirt Modified Class at Bridgeport, NJ because that's all he knows.  His first win was in 2000 in the Dirt Sportsman Class at Bridgeport, NJ.  Career highlights include 2001 Bridgeport Speedway Dirt Modified Sportsman Champion, 2002 New Egypt Speedway Dirt Modified Sportsman Champion, 2003 New Egypt Speedway Dirt Big Block Mod Rookie of Year, 2004 ARCA Remax Series Debut, 2005 ARCA Remax Series race at Daytona International Speedway, 2006 ARCA Remax qualified 6th at Daytona International Speedway and 2006 Dirt Late Model winner.

The thrill of racing for G. R. is the speed and winning.  His most exciting racing moment was qualifying 6th in 2006 Daytona ARCA 200 at such a famous track.  He's most proud of winning in a Dirt Sportsman, Dirt Northeast 358 Modified, Dirt Northeast Big Block Modified, Dirt Super Late Model, won in every kind of Dirt Race Car he's ever driven.

G. R.'s racing hero is his brother, Bucky Kell.
