Wayne Edmondson
#27w
Wayne Edmondson drives the #27w Modified
Class car. He lives in Jacksonville, AR. His home track is I-30 Speedway
but he can also be found racing at Beebe Speedway.
He began racing in 1990 in IMCA Mod Class
at I-30 Speedway because he likes working on cars and the thrill of it.
His first win was in the 1990's at Beebe Speedway in Modified Class.
Career highlights include, 1 win, Multiple Top 15 Places through the
years, and B Main winner several times.
The thrills of racing for Wayne are the
speed and the competition. His most exciting racing moment was at
Batesville Speedway, July 4th Weekend Show-Hold the "unofficial" Hang Time
Record. Him and another car got wheels together causing him to become
airborne straight up with several pirouettes and rolls, landing
upside down. He totaled his car, but other than a few bruises he raced the
following night in his other car. He is most proud of finishing a race in
one piece. Placed in the Top 100 Drivers at 2002 Boone Nationals.
Wayne's racing hero is Dave Marcis.
Of racing, Wayne says, "It's fun. It keeps
you out of trouble, out of the bars and most of all keeps you humbled".
