Austin Davis
#22
Austin Davis drives the #22 Hobby Stock
Class car. His home track is McCook Speedway but he can also be
found racing at Hitchcock Speedway, Dawson County Raceway and Oberlin
Speedway. He lives in Benkelman, NE.
Team members helping Austin are:
Dad, Jessica and Jess.
He started racing in 2001 in the Hobby
Stock Class at McCook Speedway after racing in Go Karts since he was 7
years old. His uncle and cousin raced a Modified and a Mini
Sprint. His grandpa raced years ago at a track in Benkelman, NE.
His first win was in 2005 in the Hobby Stock Class at Hitchcock
Speedway. Career highlights include first win in July of 2005 at
Hitchcock Speedway, finishing 2nd in the Hagan Memorial Race in August
of 2005 at Hitchcock Speedway and his first Feature win at Dawson County
Raceway.
The thrill of racing for Austin is going
fast and running 3 wide through the corners. His most exciting
racing moment was his first Feature win this year. He's most proud
of the fast that he started mowing lawns to get enough money to buy his
first car all on his own. With the help from sponsors he has
pretty much paid for his own racing career through high school and now
college.
Austin's racing hero is Jeff Gordon.
Of racing, Austin says, "It is a
wonderful sport - I have learned sportsmanship and the dedication it
takes to make everything work. It is a family thing for us also.
My Dad and Grandpa do a lot of the work. My sister and girlfriend
help in the pits. Mom video tapes!".
