#57AB
Steve McGee drives the #57AB Modified
Class car. His home track is Reno-Farley Raceway but he can also be
found racing at Rattle Snack Raceway and Ventura Raceway. He lives
in Garnerville, NV.
Team members helping Steve are:
Uncle Steve, Dad, Mom, Grandma, Wife - Jessica, Russ Barney.
Grandfather Allen Boles is the car owner.
Steve started racing in 1995 in the Carts
Class at Fuji Park because his Grandfather raced since he was 16 and that
was what he was brought up around! His first win was in 2001 in the
Hobby Stock Class at Reno-Fernley Raceway. Career highlights include
'02 Reno-Fernley Rookie of the Year, '03 Most Improved Driver, '04
Reno-Fernley Track Champion, '04 Hawthorne Track Champion, '06
Reno-Fernley Track Champion, '06 Sportsman of the Year at Reno-Fernley.
The thrill of racing for Steve is the
competition. His most exciting racing moment was racing his Grandpa for
the win on the last lap at Reno-Fernley Raceway. His Grandpa won,
Steve finished 2nd and my cousin finished 3rd. He's most proud of
being a clean smooth driver.
Steve's racing heroes are Ken Schrader,
Tony Stewart for owning Dirt Tracks even though they race NASCAR.
Of racing, Steve says, "It keeps you busy
to keep you out of trouble!".
