Ed Thomas drives the #01 Modified Class car.  His home track is Independence Motor Speedway but he can also be found racing at Benton County Speedway.  He lives in Waterloo, IA.

Team members helping Ed are:  Wife - Kim Thomas, Bret Ramsey, Don Clute, Steve Ramsey, Big Toe, The Emersons.  Thomas Repair is the car owner.

Ed started racing in 1985 in the Modified Class at Independence Motor Speedway because he grew up watching and wanted to try it.  His first win was in '88 in the Modified Class at Fayette County Speedway.  Career highlights include winning Dick Hogan Memorial in '01.

The thrill of racing for Ed is getting in the car and seeing what we can do.  His most exciting racing moment was winning Hogan Memorial with his Dad there.  He's most proud that he Dad always told him to keep doing his own thing.

Ed's racing hero is Jack Mitchell.

Of racing, Ed says, "Racing is fun but can be a lot of work!".
