Mel Elsberry drives the #5 Stock Car Class car.  He lives in Orange City, IA.

Team members helping Mel are:  Evan DeHaan, Dave Sassman, Bruce Schutt, Joe Bomgaars, Kirk Maasdam. 

Mel started racing in 1992 in the Hobby Stock class at Park Jefferson Speedway.  His first win was in 1993 in the Hobby Stock Class at Park Jefferson Speedway.  Career highlights include Boone Super National qualifier 2001, 2002.

The thrill of racing for Mel is hanging out with good friends from all over the country.  His most exciting racing moment was 2002 Super National Feature.  He's most proud of qualifying for Super Nationals.

Mel's racing hero is Steve Kinser.

Of racing, Mel says, "It is an awesome way to spend time with friends and meet new people.  Love the noise and speed!".
