Gary started racing in 1976 in the
Street Stock Class at Interstate Speedway because his Father and brother
had raced. It was just in his blood! His first win was that
same year. Career highlights include plenty of Trophy Dashes, 4
Heat wins in '10 at home track.
The thrill of racing for Gary early on
was winning against the old guys. Now just racing with the young
kids and beating them! His most exciting racing moment was winning
a Trophy Dash with a broken left upper ball joint against the Track
Champion. He's most proud of meeting young drivers and teaching
them not to take it so serious but have fun racing and in life.
Gary's racing hero is Bill Elliott.
Of racing, Gary says, "It is fun even if
you have to work at it!".
