Darrell DeFrance
#99D
Darrell DeFrance drives the #99D Late
Model Class car. His home track is Iowa State Fair Speedway but he
can also be found racing at Hamilton County Speedway. He lives in
Marshalltown, IA.
Team members helping Darrell are:
Dale DeFrance, Dave Flanagan, Kim Hartwig, Dave Barber, Bob Maschmann,
Dave Cristensen. DeFrance Racing is the car owner.
Darrell started racing in 1976 in the
Street Stock Class at Marshalltown Speedway because his Dad and uncles
raced and his Mom says his Dad brainwashed him. His first win was
in 1977 in the Street Stock Class at Boone Speedway. Career
highlights include first Deery Race at Burlington, '92 Super Nationals,
18 Track Championships and winner of the 2005 Super Nationals.
The thrill of racing for Darrell is the
adrenaline rush, the competition, and the camaraderie. His most
exciting racing moment was watching his Dad win races, and watching his
sister. She won Street Stock races and Championships. He's
most proud of several guys that are helping and have been with Darrell
from the beginning and the respect he gets from other people.
Darrell's racing hero is his Dad, Dale.
Of racing, Darrell says, "It's great
sport. What a family sport!".
