Mike Garland drives the #G1 IMCA Late Model Class car.  His home track is Davenport Speedway but he can also be found racing at Quad City Raceway.  He lives in Morrison, IL.

Team members helping Mike are:  Dan Mahoney, Chuck Shroatl, Bill Johnson, Shawn Swain. 

Mike started racing in 1986 in the Street Stock Class at LaSalle Speedway because his Grandfather and Father raced.  His first win was in '86 in the Street Stock Class at Mendota Speedway.  Career highlights include 3 time Freeport Raceway Park Modified Champion, Bureau County Speedway Champion, Speedway Track Champion, LaSalle Speedway Track Champion, '08 IMCA National Rookie of the Year in Late Model. 

The thrill of racing for Mike is the intensity, the friendships you make.  His most exciting racing moment was coming from back and winning 50 Lap special at Bureau County Speedway passing leader on last lap!  He's most proud of winning the WORL Modified special at Davenport Speedway.

Mike's racing heroes are Tom Reints, Kenny Schrader.

Of racing, Mike says, "It's the people, it's like a family, you have spats but everyone is about helping each other!".
