Matt Melvin is 42 years old and from Cornell Il . He runs  late models. Fairbury is his home track but he also runs Farmer City and Kankakee.  

He started racing in 1981 because a buddy he was helping quit, and he ask his self why not go racing.

he got his firs wit in his rookie year in a 6 cylinder  at Fairbury Il. He ran 10th  in the points at Kankakee, 

The car is a Prostar with a 363 Gurney. 

Dale Earnhardt is his racing hero.

His second feature in the 6 cylinder class at Fairbury was his biggest racing accomplishment and qualifying at Eldora his biggest thrill.

Racing is a hobby for Matt and his goal is to win the feature. 

His wife and Daughter and his brother Bob help.
