Dandy” Don Klein #28

the modified division. His racing hero is AJ Foyt.
“Dandy” Don calls Belle Claire Speedway home on Friday nights and
you can also catch him at Pevely on Saturday night.
Don got his first win
in 1957 in a modified in Chester, Il. His list of accomplishments is
powerful, beginning with his first track championship in 1959 at
Fredrickstown, Mo.
Don has won 17 track
championships in his career, all as part of the Allied Auto Racing
Association. With 7 of those championships being back to back. 7 in a
row….UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! His most recent accomplishment is 2nd
in the Belle Claire late model points in 2000.
Don’s late model
is a Masterbilt chassis powered by a Glenn Berry engine. Don says his
racing goal is “retirement”. He would like to thank his brother, his
four sons and everyone who has helped him during his 40+ years on the
track.
