Vernett began racing in 1997 in the cruiser division. His first win came in his rookie year at I-67 Raceway. Vernett is the 1999 cruiser champion at 67 Raceway. Vernett's street stock is a 1976 Chevy Malibu powered by a 350 cu.i. race engine. Vernett's greatest racing accomplishment is finishing 2nd in points in 2001. His biggest racing thrill is to compete on a weekly basis. Vernett's racing goal is to take 2002 off and build a late model.
