Darrell started racing in 1978 in a S-Stock at Benton. He started racing for the fun. He got his first win in a Street Stock at Benton his rookie year.

Darrell won the 78-79-80 track championships. in 1985 he was rookie of the year in a Late Model at Paducah.

The thrill is the competitiveness of racing.
