Matt Mevert modified #22 from
Steeleville, Il is 28 years of age. He began racing in 1996 in the
modified division. His home track is Mt. Vernon Raceway but you can
also catch him at Paducah Raceway.
Matt Began racin in 1996 in a
Mod at Belle-Clair speedway. Matt’s first win came in 1998 at BelleClaire Speedway. His
best points finish was 2nd in 1998 and 2000 at BelleClaire
in a modified. Racing has been a long time desire of Matt’s and now
he’s in it full force.
Matt’s modified is a Lightning chassis powered by a
Belleville Automotive race engine. His greatest racing accomplishments
so far are finishing 15th in UMP modified national points
in 1999 and winning the Summer Nationals modified race at Mt. Vernon
in 1999.
In
2001 Matt won the King City classic
at Mt. Vernon Raceway.
Matt’s goal is to race every Friday and Saturday night and
be competitive.
Matt’s racing heroes are Don
Klein and Ken Schrader.
