Dawn Mennel drives the #F13 Late Model car.  She is 31 years old and lives in East Peoria.  Her Home Track is Spoon River Speedway and she can also be found at Peoria Speedway and Farmer City's Speedway.

Dawn drives the white and purple car which has a CJ Rayburn Chassis and Chevy motor.

She started racing in 1988 in Street Stock Class at Peoria Speedway because her Dad got her into racing as well as Ed Bolen and John Feger.

Dawn's first win was in 1988 in Street Stock Class in Peoria, IL.  Last year she finished 2nd in Point at Spoon River in Pro-Street Class.  Dawn also won 4 Features and numerous Heat races.  She decided to move up to the Late Models at the end of the year.

The thrill of racing for Dawn is the pure adrenaline rush and being the only female driver in a group of guys racing.

Her greatest thrill was almost flipping the car at both Peoria Speedway and Spoon River Speedway.  It's scary but once you now you're okay, it's a whole different feeling.  The greatest moment for Dawn was taking the beg step to Late Model.  Next week she'll be racing against Bill Moyer at the UMP Summer Nationals.

Dawn's husband, James, 3 sons, Tyler, Michael and Kevin, friend Randy and all the guys at the track have helped Dawn in her racing career.

Dawn's racing hero's are:  Dad, Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon!
