Jimmy Westerfield

Jimmy is 35 years old from Ohio County, Ky. He races at Windy Hollow, Western Kentucky Speedway and Soggy Bottoms.

Jimmy drives a W.T. Harris chassis with a 406 c.i. engine.

He started racing in 1989 in the bomber class at Windy Hollow.

His first win came in 1989 at Cedar Grove (Now Soggy Bottoms.)

2001 Highlights gave Jimmy a Open Wheel Modified Championship at Windy Hollow Speedway. Also broke the track record that year and still holding with a 17.13.

Career Highlights: Winning 1500.00 in a 40 lap race held at Morton’s Gap his Rookie year and being able to hold off Jimmy Owens the National Points Champion. Also, finishing 2nd in his Dad’s Memorial Race the Bob Westerfield Memorial two years in a row.

Jimmy has won 4 Track Championships at Windy Hollow Speedway in 1992 in the Pure Stock division 1996 in the Sportsman Division and 2000 and 2001 in his Open Wheel Modified M1.

When asked what the thrill for racing for him he says, “Being in a heated battle for the lead with several other cars.”

Greatest racing thrill was passing the lead car on the last lap of the feature event to take the Victory.

His program is to work on the car all week to prepare for the racing program on the weekend.
